Gro is a partnership of industry and stakeholders that came together over 10 years ago to develop a code of practice for green roofs in the uk.

The gro code is the result of unpaid technical cooperation across the uk green roof industry. Abg has joined the green roof organisation gro the independent association representing manufacturers suppliers and installers of green roof systems and components. The extensive green roof plants seem to grow very well in them. The green roof organisation gro is an independent not for profit trade association that has been established to develop the organisation from being a special interest group into a world class membership organisation supporting and developing the uk green roofing industry.

The latest gro code of practice launched in 2014 is available here pdf the partnership is currently working on the next update of the code. The organisation has recently become a not for profit trade association with a newly elected 12 person board taking on the remit to further develop the uk green roofing industry. Nfrc provides the secretariat for the green roof organisation gro which is the independent uk body representing the industry trade associations manufacturers and key players within the green roofing sector. Green roof outfitters gro modules have been grown in my nursery for several years.

Since gro introduced the 1 2 module i have additionally started to use them to grow all my mother plants that are used for making cuttings.
