If there s something blocking the door from closing all the way a full close will be impossible.

First check the sensor lights.

The extension springs are evenly matched and installed to keep the garage door properly aligned so that it runs smoothly throughout the entire length of the track and closes evenly.
Though this problem should be obvious it shouldn t be overlooked.
If one side of the door is not in line with the other the door won t run smoothly in its tracks and when closed one side of the door won t close completely leaving an open gap.
One of the more difficult problems for do it yourselfers to diagnose is a worn cable pulley on an extension spring door.
First you need to see what has caused this to happen.
If one of them is off or blinking it means the invisible beam that tells the opener that the way is.
In an opposite situation you may find that your garage door isn t opening all the way when you push the button on the opener so that you can drive in.
If the door was closing too quickly move the spring to the next higher hole on the bracket.
Retest the door balance as you did in step 1.

Adjust the springs on both sides of the door the same way.
