Use pliers to pry open one side of the track so the opening is wide enough to slide the roller back in.

The issue is going to be due to the cable untangling and lodging on the road and drum. Open and straighten the track at the spot where the roller has jumped out of the track use a pair of pliers and open up the track. Pull the rope in order to release the door from the opener. Reach overhead and pull the rope that releases the door from the opener.

This allows you to operate the door manually. Disconnect the garage door from the opener. Check to see if the tracks are anchored to your garage s walls. Secure vise grips to the tracks under the door to keep it open while you work.

For whatever reason the garage door won t open and or close. Repeat for each of the rollers that have come off the track sliding them back in. Use a pair of vice grips or locking pliers to hold the garage door in place. A simple way to do this is to put a small piece of wood inside the opened track which will support the shape of the track.

When all the rollers are back inside the track you can close the opening in the track. There could be a number of reasons why your garage door is off track. The tracks separating from the garage walls is a common cause of a garage door malfunctioning and getting off track. Once you locate where the wheels on the door are jumping.
